Emily Flaxman seamlessly blends her passion for interior design with her expertise in psychology.

With a degree in psychology from Yale and an MBA from NYU, Emily has a unique understanding of how people interact with their environments and how she can remove what she calls "design friction." She leverages these insights to create spaces that are not only beautiful but also feel supportive, inviting, and functional.

Emily combines her eye for design with meeting her clients in moments of transition. "Our lives are constantly changing, and our houses should be no different. It's important to be able to keep our houses up-to-date with what is going on in our lives. People usually reach out to me when they've hit a major inflection point, often coinciding with a major change -- a growing family, the loss of a loved one, a new house purchase, relocating. I use my background in psychology to understand my clients on a deeper level."

Emily also guides her clients through a process that is often stressful. "It brings me so much joy to create spaces that help fulfill my client's life potential in addition to making the renovation process fun and stress-free for them.”

Emily started her career in interior design working alongside some of the top interior designers in the country at Martha Angus Interior Design. She also has work experience in live television, brick-and-mortar retail marketing, eCommerce, and branding.

Emily currently lives in Berkeley, California with her daughter, puppy, and husband.
